Talk to me.

Tell me what will my tomorrow be like.

10 April marks the birthday of my gorgeous Salihah. 10 April 2009 marks the seventeenth year of Salihah existence.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LOVELY!
I love you, sugar.

A couple of us decided to throw a little surprise for this petite adorable little girlfriend of ours as a birthday celebration. People involved include Ween and Nabzee and Hafiz and Mahir and Jean. R-A-N-D-O-M.

Nabilah: Who is 9*******?
Shazreen: Eh, my boyfriend! *snatches phone away*

We kind of dined in at Fish & Co., and Nabz led the birthday rap for Sally. I hope she is at least a little stunned and moved :D

I worked at night. Busy, it sure was. Despite of that little thing that happened, I was still in the mood of engaging in light conversations with some customers. I don't know, it can be quite fun, actually.

(Good)night.

Then sneakily place a clown by the side of her bed and tickle her nose..
So when she gets up, she will be frightened by the clown.

Charlie's Angels, mind you.

I was deeply engrossed in reading my novel, gripping the sides of the book as I read on and on, fidgeting in my seat at every exciting part. Forces of gravity impelled me to flip to the following page which will start a whole new chapter, but my heart resisted the urge when soulmate gave me the signal to start walking to her house.

Soulmate, Ween and I eventually met up as what we planned earlier on. We headed straight to E! Hub since we arranged to catch a movie. Funny thing that happened was when a guy called us Charlie's Angels when we walked by.

We grabbed our late lunch at Subway where we encountered retards working behind the counter, serving us, preparing our sandwiches. Perhaps they should go on their knees as a form of apology and gratitude that we aren't some kind of pussies that would break their necks as a lesson to learn. Hahaha!
Subway, eat fresh!
As we were eating, we were also conceiving outing plans, and no, that doesn't spell trouble. We are just teenagers and we want to have fun. Don't rob us of our rightful pleasure.

All of us finally watched Confessions Of A Shopaholic, after like what, a week or so? It was certainly a worth-watching flick to me and I honestly love it as a whole.
Two thumbs up!

To wrap our day up, we chilled at the alfresco area outside Burger King and coincidentally bumped into Sally and Hafiz. Sally had a deck of UNO cards, like a really old pack that looked like it had been soaked a thousand times, giving it a vintage aura. Correct me if I were wrong, it was a UNO Love pack. How fascinating!

Jean says:
Why do you have to digress now?
Never mind..
B is..
I killed another bug with my can of starch!
YAY.
I WIN.
Starch works man.
And it doesn't reek like insecticides.

Jean says:

How about you, you, you?

[c=46]Nabzee[/c] says:

Jean says:

[c=46]Nabzee[/c] says:

Jean says:

[c=46]Nabzee[/c] says:

*sad face*

Jean says:
I said I wanted too, too, too.

I will always lose the optimism I need as soon as I found it.

Tonight, I finally realised why I would flip open my novel to read. A couple of reasons, yes, but I am not proud of this reason at all.

Round two.

Remember previously when I killed a bug with starch? I did it again tonight.
KUDOS TO JEAN.
Upon hearing the familiar and infamous sound of what an insect would make, I jumped out of my seat and darted to a corner I reckoned safer. I was on my toes, vigilant on my guard, catching the slightest sound that bug was making. To my delight, it just crashed onto the floor. I hurried to get my can of starch, confident that that would do the trick once again. This bug was tougher to kill, but I managed to triumph, and I feel so powerful now. I am aware how cruel I was, but to defence myself, I had to show what it takes to be a more dominating species than them.

Round two goes to Jean!

HAPPY NINTH MONTH, BRATTY!
(Belated.)

05 April 2009.

Down the aisle.

Sometimes I wonder, what kind of life am I leading? Is it even a worthy life anyone should own?

I know I promised myself to update about yesterday, but procrastination left me the urge to do otherwise. All I can do now is to cross my fingers that these memories will remain in my heart for as long as they should. However, knowing the capacity of my memory far too well, these memories would probably slip out of my mind soon. I can only hope for the best.

Soulmate and I met up at 1400, and we headed to the restaurant straight, dead on time for the brief birthday celebration intended for Minthu. Nadz did the honour of leading the rap, and we could see those grateful expressions in Minthu's eyes. I am sure this little celebration moved his heart.

Soon after, we left for Downtown to grab a late lunch at Fish & Co. Express. Conversations between ourselves can never fail to be instilled with great laughter. That is one way of staying healthy.

When I got home at 1800, I already knew I had to rush, and even so, I was undeniably late. Not very late as to setting their butts on fire, but tardy enough to keep everyone waiting. In the end, my family amongst the other three, arrived first.

It was an invitation to a wedding dinner held at Swissotel. How can I possibly cook up an excuse to not turn up? I didn't really feel out of place despite having clusters of old folks and people in their forties fifties. The elders even tried to match make a guy Nelson (I reckon) with my cousins. Generation gap. What era are we living in now? Is 'match make' even in our dictionaries? Thankfully, I am too young to be involved.

My cousin, coincidentally by the name of Lynn, and I were looking out for handsome guys whilst making our way to the red table. Surprisingly, we managed to spot two hotties in the pool of uncles and aunties at table 28. The downside was that we were seated twenty-six tables away from them. Given the supposedly close relationship with the groom, my granny was invited to sit at the red table.

I was absolutely clueless who the bride and groom were till I actually saw the montage of the couple's wedding shots. The ambiance was more enchanting than what I had pictured, but the menu was no surprise as it was mainly catered for the elderly.

Lynn and I kept excusing ourselves to the restrooms so as to catch a better glimpse of those two guys. I assumed they are brothers as they resemble one another. We thought of approaching them as a friendly gesture, but hesitated as they were total strangers to all of us. What a shame. As for my auntie, she literally went over to a couple of neighbouring tables to socialise. We probably should have taken a leaf out of her book.

As we were making our way out of the hotel, my daddy warned Lynn and I to step away from the side of the escalators while descending, or ascending. He mentioned that a guy tried to peer underneath my dress through the reflection by the side of the escalator earlier on. My dad glared at him sternly and that guy pretended to look away swiftly. He reckoned that this pervert attended the dinner as well. Such a jerk. What's there to peek at anyway?

03 April 2009.

Healed and reopened.

Step into my shoes and relate to my frustration. Annoying, indeed. It gets on my nerves each time my vision is heavily blurred, and all I can make out are apparently the shapes and contours and colours of my sight. However, it plays as a considerably good excuse to be oblivious to my surroundings even though I am the only one aware of my ignorance. Pretence, in this case, comforts me.

I know it will hinder my performance at work as my pace would be greatly affected. So I grew anxious upon my realisation. But lucky me, I managed to regain my sharp (not really) vision just before boarding the bus.

Work today was amazingly awesome. Well, not that anything good actually happened, just that nothing really bad occurred. Hanah and I were paired up to handle both runner and station A. If you need to grumble about any customers, she's the right one to look for. It was enjoyable working with her.

This is still worthy to mention. I led another birthday rap, but I did the old one, anyway. Doesn't diminish how proud I feel about myself. Leading a birthday rap means something to me, you know.

Speaking of which, Nadz brought up a question during our recent FOH meeting.
"Why do you work?"
I have given some thought about it and derived an answer. I don't owe anyone an answer, I owe myself one.

Yes, I won't hide the truth that I started to work for the money and simply to kill my time. I won't deny that I went for the interview without much interest and just to give it a shot.
Initial stage of work was difficult for me as I was foreign to almost everything. I had to start learning from scratch like all others. Up till this day, I am still learning incessantly each and every day I am working. I meet people from all walks of life, each with an individual story to tell. More often than not, I am clueless about their lives, but judging from their accents, their body languages and whatnot, I will mentally weave their stories in my mind. This brings me back to my point of learning. I am constantly learning how to handle all sorts of customers, how to deal with difficult situations, and how to overcome my fears and the obstacles ahead of me. The entire growing up process gives me a sense of achievement and satisfaction. Coupled with multiple injections of fun from people I work with, I would consider everything worthwhile. I guess this is what I want at the end of the day.

Shazreen came in with Iqbal for their lunch, and I was definitely more than willing to serve them. I was delighted to see her, of course. Not forgetting, Lyn came down from MJC and dropped by the restaurant as well. I spent some time with her before we headed home. Love you babes!
